Peter Feldmann

Lord Mayor of the City of Frankfurt and Chairman of FrankfurtRheinMain GmbH

Born in 1958, Peter Feldmann is the Lord Mayor of the City of Frankfurt am Main. He holds a degree in political science and social sector economics. For many years, he has been an advocate for international openness and tolerance. From 1989 to 2012, he served as City Councilor on Frankfurt am Main’s City Council and head of the cities financial Commission. He served as his party’s faction deputy chairman from 2004 until he took office as Lord Mayor in 2012. Based on his areas of emphasis, Lord Mayor Feldmann continues to support various Frankfurt-based organizations dedicated to assisting youths, the unemployed, and the elderly.

 

Uwe Becker

Mayor and City-Treasurer of the City of Frankfurt

Uwe Becker is Mayor and City Treasurer of Frankfurt/Main. In addition, he is Department Head and responsible for Finance, Shareholdings and Church Affairs.

He is member of the supervisory board of the trade fair organization Messe Frankfurt GmbH and head of the board of the energy company Mainova AG. Uwe Becker is also active as deputy chairman of the German-Israeli society (DIG) in Frankfurt and President of the Friends of the Tel Aviv University in Germany.

 

Eric Menges

President and CEO of FrankfurtRheinMain GmbH

Eric Menges, born on 6 April 1967 in Frankfurt am Main, started his career with a trainee program at the Banque Transatlantique in Paris, France, followed by positions at Transfield Construction Pty. Ltd. in Australia. From 1996 on he was Head of Investment Marketing for the Australian Government (State of Victoria) in Europe. Since 2013 he is the CEO of FrankfurtRheinMain GmbH International Marketing of the Region. Eric Menges holds a University degree in Business Administration and is married with two children.

 

Dr. Jochen Biedermann

Senior Advisor, Frankfurt Main Finance

Jochen is a seasoned consultant in the financial industry and beyond. Based in Frankfurt and Hong Kong, he supports financial centres, FinTech start-ups, stock exchanges, regulatory authorities and corporates in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. On behalf of the financial centre of Frankfurt, he takes care of development and implementing partnerships between Frankfurt and other international financial centres. He also supports Frankfurt in establishing a vibrant FinTech ecosystem. Additionally, he helps individual FinTech companies to expand globally and to find the right investors for growing their businesses. Furthermore, he has a special interest in Blockchain technology, where he brings projects, experts, companies, and investors together.

Last but not least, he consults Chinese companies and investors in doing business in Germany and German companies to be successful in China. From 1999 to 2013 Jochen worked for Deutsche Börse Group. As SVP for International Affairs, he was in charge of its business in emerging markets. Between 2001 and 2005 he served as a lecturer at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. Jochen holds a diploma in mathematics & computer science from the University of Göttingen and a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Cottbus, Germany. He is also Research Professor at Hankou University in Wuhan, China.

 

Prof. Dr. Peter Buxmann

Full Professor for Software Business and Information Management at Technische Universität Darmstadt

Peter Buxmann is Full Professor for Software Business and Information Management at Technische Universität Darmstadt. He supervised numerous scientific as well as industry-related research projects and is head of HIGHEST, the centre of business creation of TU Darmstadt. His research interests are the Digitalization of the Economy, IT Security and Privacy, Software Business as well as Information Management. 

 

Dr. Gerhard Kebbel

Head of Division Digitalization at the German State Bank of Hesse and Thuringia (Helaba) 

Gerhard Kebbel is responsible for developing digital products and processes at Helaba, short for Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen, which is one of the leading German banks in real estate and corporate finance and a key institution in the German savings bank group with strong roots in the region. Gerhard worked for ten years in senior positions in the Commerzbank group,  and another ten years as a management consultant, focusing on developing and executing corporate strategies.

 

Dr. Sebastian Schäfer

Managing Director, TechQuartier, the Startup Hub of the Metropolregion FrankfurtRheinMain

Dr. Sebastian Schäfer is the Managing Director of TechQuartier. Frankfurt-based TechQuartier serves as the central access point for the start-up and Fintech community in the largest financial center in Continental Europe. He also teaches entrepreneurship at Goethe University and conducts research in the field of behavioral economics and finance. Before joining TechQuartier, Dr. Schaefer was the head of the Unibator, the business incubator of Goethe University.

 

Ram Shoham

Founder of Accelerator Frankfurt

Ram Shoham (Tel Aviv / Hong Kong / Frankfurt) has 16 years of international experience in corporate finance and general management. Ram has helped startups and entrepreneurs secure investments and build their businesses internationally. Ram also sits as a judge for startups events and lectures in various universities (e.g. Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, Tel Aviv University, KU-Leuven).
